Chris has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years in various marketing, business development and public relations positions. In 2008, Chris founded Atlas Marketing to tell stories for people who build things. The agency, based in Pittsburgh, specializes in marketing, social media, digital development, crisis communications, public relations and marketing strategy. Since inception, the agency has worked hard to simplify the complex stories of labor organizations, government agencies, general contractors, specialty contractors and statewide industry associations. In addition to being a member of the AGC BD Forum, Chris is co-host of the Building PA Podcast, a podcast that showcases the construction industry throughout Pennsylvania and a frequent speaker on the topics of crisis communications and telling stories for the construction industry.
A team of Construction Leadership Council volunteers participated in the latest CLC Community Service event at Harvesters’ regional food bank in Kansas City. During their 4 to 6 p.m. shift on February 27, they processed 520 boxes of food for elderly citizens in need. A shout-out to Emilia Rivera, CLC Community Service Chair and Director of Culture and Training, E&K of Kansas City, Inc., for organizing the event.

The 2019 AGC of America Outstanding Student Chapter Contest was broken up into three categories including Outstanding Emerging Student Chapter, Outstanding Community Service, and Outstanding Construction Management Skills. Earlier this month, the National CLC Steering Committee met at AGC’s Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. At this meeting the group thanked Ashley Phelps of Gilbane Building Company for her service as Chair from 2019-2020 and Gaines Moorer with Lakeview Risk Partners officially began his leadership for the 2020-2021 term.

For the second year in a row, AGC of America’s Business Development Forum, partnered with The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), to offer free one-on-one BD “Check-Ups” for AGC Convention attendees to review and offer guidance on their BD and marketing related efforts. Subject matter experts from across the nation were paired with attendees to answer questions and challenges relating to BD planning, sales, proposals, client presentations, branding, brochures, websites, social media, and more.

At the AGC Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Building Division by acclimation elected Robert (Bob) Majerus as Chairman for 2020-2021. Bob is a graduate of Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and has a Law Degree from the University of Notre Dame. He joined Hensel Phelps in 2006 and serves as Vice President and General Counsel, Bob has overall responsibility for contractual and legal matters for the Greeley, Colorado-based organization. Prior to joining Hensel Phelps, Bob was a trial attorney for a private law firm. He began his career with Hensel Phelps as Associate General Counsel before being appointed Vice President and General Counsel.
